Welcome to the 61st Annual Greene County Fair in
Greeneville, Tennessee!
The Board of
Directors would like to thank everyone that attended this year's
fair for making it one our most successful. We would also like to
thank the dozens of volunteers, employees, exhibitors and sponsors,
whose dedication and hard work continually place our fair among the
best in the state. Work has already begun on next years fair, and we
hope to build on this year's successes to make next year even
better!
The Greene
County Fair is recognized statewide as one of the best of its size. In
2005, we were honored to receive the Tennessee Association of
Fairs highest award, the “Champion of Champions” fair trophy. In
2004 and 2001, we were named the AAA division Champion Fair in the
state of Tennessee. In 1994 and 2000, we received the 1st
Runner-Up for the Champion Fair in the AAA Division, and in 1988, we
were honored as the Most Outstanding Fair in Tennessee. Without the
tremendous support from our community, these accolades would be
impossible to achieve.
There has been a fair in some form in Greene County since 1870 when
the Farmers and Mechanics Association held its first exposition.
The present Greene County Fair Association was incorporated in
1949. The Fair you visit this year represents the love and hard
work of countless volunteers, board members and officers since 1949.
